Joshua 8:1-35
by Bro. Myles Rumion
Theme: How Christians can practically fight for victory in their every day struggles.
Introduction: As we read last time in chapter 7, Joshua and his army suffered great loss when Achan stole of the accursed things. Achan’s actions led to him and his family’s deaths, and Joshua’s first defeat against the people of AI. Despite the army’s frustrations, struggles, and failures. Joshua chapter 8 shows Christians today how to take the right steps toward victory. Victory does not come to the proud, the complacent, and to the self-centered. It only comes to the humble, the disciplined, and to those who place God first in their lives. Main Point 1: Victory comes to those who are humble, not the proud. Verses 1-8 Main Point 2: Victory comes to those who take their battle seriously, not to the complacent. Verses 9-29 Main Point 3: Victory comes to those who put God first, not to the self-centered.
